On The Radio

Thank you for a great evening at Vitello's Jazz and Supper Club! The full house on Tuesday night was swinging along with tunes from Jobim to Jordan. We'll be back on May 20th, so save the date.

In celebration of National Women's Month, Samm Brown did a special broadcast of FOR THE RECORD on LA Women in Jazz. Lisa Keating guested on the show which aired March 22nd at 8 pm.

Here's a link to the KPFK archive in case you missed it LIVE and would like to listen in to the recorded show. Other guests included local jazz artists Cathy Segal-Garcia and Carmen Lundy. Carmen is playing Upstairs at Vitellos this week on Thursday and Friday!

Musically yours,
Lisa

A Studio Is A Studio

A snap during set up for rehearsal in my husband's art studio.

Here's a little live video from our show with Justin Bransford on bass and me and Jesse Vernier from Cords and Strings. This was our first outing on this material. Here I am dipping my toe in the waters of singing in Portuguese. I'm looking forward to exploring more lyrics in this poetic, liquid language of love. Enjoy, Lisa

Brazilian Exports

Here's a little sample from a LIVE set of Brazilian tunes we played at The Performance Space last week. I am loving working on this repetoire, so tender, sweet and sad with beautiful melodies and gentle rhythms. The sounds coming from Jesse Vernier's guitar are an inspiration. We've got some Portuguese tunes in the pipeline, too.

Subtle, rich and romantic this is my first guitar/vocal duo endeavor. I hope you like this material on us. Jesse and I are looking to Samba our way into Summer offering private house concerts, gallery events and dinner music programs from LA to Santa Fe.
