Stuff People Say About Us

One of my favorite comments that has come up after our last couple of shows is that people feel like they have been transported to New York. Part of that is coming from taking on music from Broadway musicals, but part of it is coming from a certain feeling you get in New York. Dark little clubs where jazz players explore the limits of their instruments and the pulse of the city is all around, upstairs, downstairs, down the hall, just outside the door - it's a vibe - an energy - moments of clarity transcending chaos. Something magical is in the air here and we're hearing it and bringing it out to play and share with you. Hope you can feel it, too. xo Lisa

Brazilian Exports

Here's a little sample from a LIVE set of Brazilian tunes we played at The Performance Space last week. I am loving working on this repetoire, so tender, sweet and sad with beautiful melodies and gentle rhythms. The sounds coming from Jesse Vernier's guitar are an inspiration. We've got some Portuguese tunes in the pipeline, too.

Subtle, rich and romantic this is my first guitar/vocal duo endeavor. I hope you like this material on us. Jesse and I are looking to Samba our way into Summer offering private house concerts, gallery events and dinner music programs from LA to Santa Fe.

Together At 7

Together at 7              Tickets

There's music in the air in Eldorado. Join us for a unique evening of musical collaboration! Cords & Strings' award-winning actor/singer Lisa Keating and virtuoso guitarist Jesse Vernier dig into sounds from Brazil to Broadway in this elegant offering recently seen After Hours at Vivo Contemporary on Canyon Road. Popular Santa Fe bassist and New Mexico Music Award Nominee, Justin Bransford brings the Justin Bransford Group to the stage featuring Jerry Weimer on clarinet and Russel Scharf on trumpet.

This evening of world-class performances comes to Eldorado at Santa Fe's Performance Space. Tickets are $20. (Food and drink available at La Plancha, or bring your own.)

Tickets: $20 suggested donation. No one turned away.

A Studio Is A Studio

A snap during set up for rehearsal in my husband's art studio.

Here's a little live video from our show with Justin Bransford on bass and me and Jesse Vernier from Cords and Strings. This was our first outing on this material. Here I am dipping my toe in the waters of singing in Portuguese. I'm looking forward to exploring more lyrics in this poetic, liquid language of love. Enjoy, Lisa
